Summit Community Gardens is a nonprofit organization founded on the principle and mission to build and strengthen our community by educating, empowering, and providing an opportunity for people to grow their own food successfully and sustainably. We achieve this mission by offering gardening education to adults and youth, garden plot rentals, and community events.

In 2015, Summit Community Gardens (SCG) partnered with Summit County, The Summit Land Conservancy, and Basin Recreation to create a new 1.5 acre garden located centrally in the Snyderville Basin. This new space is home to community garden plots, perennial demonstration beds, fruit and vegetable demonstration beds, a beehive, a kids’ garden, and a compost center.  The overarching vision for the space is a community-based garden that would serve as a destination to gather, learn, and grow.
