Elementary Garden Camp
Join us this summer at Garden Camp — where children grow their connection to food, nature, and community.
Located at Summit Community Gardens, campers are immersed in our 1.5 acre space full of growing food and flowers, surrounded by nature, and nestled under the mountains. Each week, campers plant, tend, and harvest in the garden, then cook simple, seasonal recipes right on-site using fresh ingredients. Campers create nature-based art, investigate soil, plants, and ecosystems, and spend meaningful time digging and discovering outdoors.
Through this hands-on learning and exploring, children build practical skills, learn to care for the land, and gain a deeper understanding of where their food comes from, all while experiencing the fun and freedom of summer outdoors.
New this year, camp runs 9 am - 1 pm with an option to go Beyond the Garden exploring some of our most engaging community partners. Beyond the Garden field trips, from 1 -3 pm on select weeks, give campers the chance to connect gardening and cooking to local history, art, nature.
Is your favorite camp sold out? Don’t worry - plans change all the time. Sign up on the waitlist and we’ll contact you if space becomes available.

Scholarships
We want to provide the opportunity for every kid to participate in Garden Camp. We ask that families request no more than two weeks of scholarships for camp to allow as many children as possible to participate. Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Thank you! We look forward to seeing you at camp. If you have any questions, please contact gabriela@summitcommunitygardens.org.
Regular Scholarship (Family Contribution $25)
If your child qualifies for the free and reduced lunch program and/or your family earns less than 50% of the Area Median Income, you automatically qualify for a Regular Scholarship. To register, please select the Regular Scholarship option on the dropdown menu when you add the camp to your cart. This incredible discount is made possible by a caring community that wishes for all kids to enjoy summer camp. Our team will get in touch with you if we have a question about your scholarship eligibility.
Partial Scholarship (Family Contribution $200)
If you don’t meet the requirements above but the registration fee will put a burden on your family, and your income is 50-80% of the Area Median Income, you may qualify for a Partial Scholarship.
