Summer Camps for Elementary Age Children
Registration is open!
Join us this summer at our awesome camps in the Garden! Every week includes daily cooking and tasting so all kids build skills, confidence, and willingness to try new foods. Children garden, engage in nature-based arts and crafts, learn environmental stewardship, and savor unstructured time to play and explore outside. Special guests and field trips round out the camp experience. We can't wait to welcome your child to summer camp!
Camp information
Camp runs from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm for children who are rising 1st through 6th graders (except Cycle the Cycles, more info below).

All of our camps are ripe for adventure—but some might be full! Get on the waitlist, and you could be the next to harvest a spot!
If you have younger kids, register for our Pre-K camps.
If you have older kids, we welcome junior high or middle school students to participate in our camps as volunteer counselors-in-training. Reach out to Erica, our Director of Youth Education at erica@summitcommunitygardens.org with any questions.
Parent/Guardian must submit this SMARTWAIVER for each camper before they can participate in camp.
Scholarships
We want to make sure all kids can come to camp. If cost is preventing your family from participating, scholarships may be available! Children whose families live in Summit or Wasatch County and have an income below 80% Area Median Income (AMI) for Summit County may be able to have qualify for a full scholarship, and attend for free. For children whose families are 80-120% AMI, a partial scholarship may be available. We would also like to hear from you if there is a special circumstance. Scholarships are limited to 2 per child, 4 per family, to enable more young people to participate. Please reach out to Erica at erica@summitcommunitygardens.org for more information. We have already given out over 55 scholarships this year! Please sign-up below to be considered for a scholarship if more open up.

“A Week in the Life of a Gardener” focuses on our food system, using our beautiful Garden as a classroom. Each day holds opportunities for learning, art, physical activity, gardening, and food preparation. We will learn about sustainable agricultural models, regenerative soil practices, and local food systems. We will explore demonstration beds in the center of the Garden, helping with the weekly harvest for the Food Farmacy. Campers will have hands-on experiences to help them understand the importance of growing and preparing their own food.
