We always welcome more amazing volunteers!
Garden Maintenance
The Community Garden is a shared space for our community to enjoy and we rely on help from you to keep it looking beautiful. Throughout the summer growing season, we have several opportunities for people to assist us with general garden maintenance and upkeep. We typically have morning, evening, and weekend shifts available so there’s a time for everyone. Helping out in the Garden in the fresh summer air is good for the soul! Sign up to help us maintain and beautify the garden.
Curious Cooks
Volunteer opportunities for the 2025-26 school year are now available!
Curious Cooks is part of Park City School District’s (PCSD) after-school programs. Held at the four Park City elementary schools, Curious Cooks is an age-appropriate, experiential cooking and nutrition class taught by our Education Team. Lessons focus on the food cycle, the basics of cooking, and the best part - taste tests! Our interactive approach empowers young students by creating excitement around food and nutrition. Plus they get many opportunities to expand their palates. With repeated hands-on exposure to food prep and cooking, students leave class with a basic knowledge of food preparation and how best to fuel their bodies. Volunteers assist our Education Team in the classrooms as we rotate through each elementary on early-out Fridays.
PCSD asks that all volunteers are fingerprinted. To schedule a fingerprinting appointment with PCSD please email team@summitcommunitygardens.org. We will send you the necessary forms, instructions, and sign up link to help our Curious Cooks team.
Learn more about Park City’s after-school programs, or email our Education Team at education@summitcommunitygardens.org.
Food Farmacy
Our friends and partners at the Christian Center of Park City manage the coordination of volunteers for the Food Farmacy deliveries. Thank you, Jaime! You can sign up to deliver food to our neighbors in need at the following link:
Please complete the Volunteer Waiver prior to signing up for any volunteer opportunities. We look forward to working with you!
Fruit to Schools
We’re gearing up for the 2025-26 school year! Check soon for Fruit to Schools volunteer opportunities. Fruit to Schools is another food-access program that we love to facilitate. Many students don't have access to healthy snacks at school, or even at home. Fruit to Schools provides kids with a delicious, healthy fresh piece of fruit every week. We deliver one box of fresh fruit to six Park City School District (PCSD) schools plus one box to Holy Cross Ministries PreK program every Monday throughout the school year. Thanks to our wonderful partner, Macey’s in Pinebrook! We need volunteers who can pick up the fruit boxes from Macey’s on Monday mornings and deliver them to one of three Park City area schools. The wonderful Outreach Coordinators at each school then distribute the fruit to those who need it most. They often report that this fruit is loved by the kids! They look forward to it every week.
Garden Harvest
In the center of our 1.5 acre Garden is a dedicated space called the Demonstration Garden. This is where we grow produce for our food access initiative, the Food Farmacy. We start harvesting the Demonstration Garden beds in early summer and donate it to the patients at the People's Health Clinic and at free pop-up markets at the clinic. It’s a big job! Our Garden Team loves having support from volunteers and our volunteers love knowing they are making an impact right here in their community. We harvested a beautiful rainbow of fresh fruit, veggies, and herbs from tomatoes, carrots, and peppers to leafy greens, cabbages, and lavender. Thank you to our garden harvest volunteers for a great 2025 harvest season!
Dinners in the Garden
Thank you for a wonderful summer season of Dinners in the Garden. Check back in the spring for new opportunities to help our Dinner series. With this volunteer opportunity, you’ll be helping to make sure the Dinners in the Garden go smoothly for our restaurant partners and our dinner guests. Dinners are held throughout the summer and volunteers are needed for various shifts at each one. Dinners in the Garden help to raise money to support our food access partnership, the Food Farmacy. Volunteers must be 21 or older.
Join the fun in the garden and around the community
Our Summit Community Garden is a space for building community, learning new skills, and growing sustainable food in Summit County. The hard work of volunteers helps make the garden the amazing place that it is, and we love welcoming new folks to our community. As a volunteer, you’ll get to learn about community gardening and sustainable agriculture while spending time outside in the shadow of the Wasatch mountains! If none of the above opportunities fit your needs or schedule, please fill out the form below. If you have a group of 5 or more looking to volunteer, please contact us at team@summitcommunitygardens.org
This is a complete honor system-based and there are absolutely no questions asked from our end. We simply ask you to log your hours because it helps us see how utilized the garden is in the community. We share this data and information when we apply for grants to keep the garden growing. Thank you so much for your time and interest in the garden!
